Leave some cucumber slices or peels overnight around kitchen counters and cabinets or near sinks and crevices where roaches may be especially active. The best containers for storing food are made of hard glass and metal. Plastic works too, just make sure it’s in good shape. It's important to treat the nest as well as killing roaches on site. Depending on the temperature and their size, they can live for a month without any food, but no more than a week without water.
